OZONE in agriculture and poultry farming

Before explaining the application technique of Ozone (O 3 ) in Livestock and Poultry, we consider it important to refer to the daily problems that this type of places or activities present.

EFFECTS TO  CONSIDER

  • DEVELOPMENT OF GERMS.

  • EMANATIONS OF AMMONIA GASES.

  • ENTRY OF FOREIGN BODIES FROM THE OUTSIDE (POLLUTING AGENTS).

  • BAD SMELLS.

CONSEQUENCE

  • LESS HEALTHY ANIMALS

  • DELAYED GROWTH

  • LACK OF APPETITE

  • LOWER MEAT PRODUCTION

  • LOWER MILK PRODUCTION

  • EPIDEMICS DUE TO CONTAGION

  • DIARRHEA

  • BURCELLOSIS

  • KOCH'S BACILLUS

All these problems can be reduced by carrying out adequate ozonation, both of the air and of the water.

EFFECTS OF OZONE ON THE ENVIRONMENT

The properties of Ozone and its beneficial action will achieve:

Purify the environment by destroying bacteria and viruses from outside or from the interior environment itself, where the most appropriate medium for the development of these microorganisms is found.

THE OXIGENATION OF THE PREMISES

 REDUCE ODOR

The germicidal action of Ozone achieves the elimination of bacteria, fungi and viruses that exist in the ships. These places, due to animal droppings, are ideal culture media for the development of these microorganisms, promoting the spread of streptococci, staphylococci, colibacilli as well as diphtheria and tetanus toxins.

It is also important to point out the deodorizing effects of OZONE. The premises that house the animals have a rarefied atmosphere and unpleasant odors due to their perspiration and droppings, which are very annoying for animals and people. Ozone destroys the substances that produce these bad odours, achieving a very pleasant deodorization of the buildings. The use of Ozone is convenient in all the breeding and fattening processes, a reduction in the use of preventive medicines, thereby increasing the profitability of the farm.

It is worth noting the reduction of expenses in heating and installation of air extractors, due to the fact that Ozone, by disinfecting and deodorizing the ambient air, allows the number of air renewals in the ship to be reduced.

EFFECTS OF OZONE IN WATER

If the water is not properly treated, it can be a transmitter of diseases, both in its use for drinking by animals and for cleaning utensils.

Carrying out an adequate ozonation we will achieve the following results:

  • In its Consumption, it offers particular interest in cases involving water containing bacteria, that is, water more or less suspected of infection. The application of Ozone to sterilize water not only acts as a deodorizer and oxidizer of dissolved organic substances, but also as a sterilizer.

  • In Cleaning, with ozonized water we will be able to disinfect stables, utensils and animals, eliminating contaminating microorganisms that could be attached to floors, walls, animal skin, etc.

CONCLUSIONS

With an adequate application of OZONE (O3), we will achieve: THE DESTRUCTION OF INFECTIOUS, AEROBIC AND ANAEROBIC AGENTS. This application is not momentary, but continues safely during each and every one of the breeding cycles of animals and birds and they will enjoy an energetic action against pathogens in the air or already captured by their respiratory system.
